How to Fix a Stapler？

You just don't know how precious that little stapler is to you until it breaks, and you're left with piles of unpinned pages to sort out. Most stapler problems are caused by rough use, such as slamming the top of the stapler with the palm of your hand, rather than carefully grasping the sides of the stapler while pressing down lightly. If you need to repair the stapler, the process is usually straightforward, but in some cases, it can break down beyond basic repair. In the latter case, unless your stapler is particularly high-end, it's best to avoid exacerbating it by fiddling with it, and just buy a new one.

Grasp the stainless-steel part of the stapler with one hand and the plastic/acrylic top with the other. Pull them apart until you can see the inside of the stapler.

Move any good staples you can grab from the head of the stapler and remove them temporarily.

Use tweezers to pull out as many staples as possible from the front of the stapler. Your goal is to find the first staple ahead, which may be stuck inside. If you can't get the last staple out with tweezers, try inserting a small flathead screwdriver inside. Work under the jammed staple until it's free. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to push the jammed staple up from the bottom of the stapler head.

If you have a heavy-duty stapler, the staples will be longer and harder to remove when they snap into the stapler head. Pull out the spring assembly first. Use needle-nose pliers to pull the jammed staples out of the stapler head. In the worst case, placing the stapler on a sturdy surface a few times to loosen the staples may help.
