Will staplers disappear in a paperless future?

May 31, 2022

In recent years, when it comes to stationery and office utensils, including pencils, pens, erasers and copiers, it is difficult to avoid the problem of paperless. Are pens still a necessity when human beings have fewer opportunities to write? When the paperless office continues to develop, will the stapler still be a must for our office?

We can't judge the future, but in the short term, none of them will go away. It is precisely because human beings have fewer and fewer opportunities to write that writing becomes an elegant or interesting thing. Many people choose to record their lives with handbooks, and some people choose to copy poems for meditation. Because of this sense of ritual, makes people choose higher-end pens.

The same is true of staplers. Paperless office is indeed a trend, and it has been a trend even more than ten years ago. But for now, it still stays at the level of electronic writing and network circulation. Of course, we will look forward to the future, such as replacing the current PPT with VR conferences, not to mention paper proposal documents, but the connection between humans and paper products will still exist for a long time, and the same will be true of staplers.

The stapler won't go away in the process, but it will also become more convenient. For example, an electric stapler can help people get rid of complicated and meaningless mechanical work and improve office efficiency.

Everything that modern people have, in a sense, is based on the need for "lazy". In order to make farming easier, there is agricultural automation, and in order to make travel more convenient, there is a huge transportation network and various means of transportation... At the household level, sweeping robots and dishwashers are not just some people. A gimmick of understanding, it is also to liberate human beings and hand over mechanical work to machines, so that human beings can have more time to explore the world and enjoy life.

The stapler has been a "lazy" tool since its birth. Before it disappears, the only thing we can hope for is that it can become more convenient and make it easier for humans to "lazy".
