How to Stop Sticky Notes Curling and Falling Off
How do you stop the sticky notes from curling up and falling off the wall you just stuck to?
Sticky notes are a common tool in our lives. However, many of us don't seem to know how to use them properly.
While post-it notes have been around for 40 years, they don't come with instruction manuals. Probably not surprising since they seem easy to use. Most of us, however, just grab the pad of Post-it notes, jot something down on the page quickly, then grab the bottom corner and pull it diagonally toward the opposite corner. Then we put it on the wall or whiteboard, and we often get frustrated when the note is rolled so tightly that no one else can read the wonderful thing we just tried to share with the group! Or worse, when the group gathers around the display of Post-it notes and starts discussing shared ideas, one by one, the Post-its start to fall off and fall to the ground.
Most of us just see it as a restriction on using post-it notes, but it doesn't have to be! Pulling them up or sideways will cause the notes to bend and then they won't stick well to the flat surface. Instead, gently lift the middle of the bottom edge and pull it toward you, in a straight motion away from the sticky edge, to remove them. This way they stay flat and you can easily share your talents with others!
A good sticky note is reusable, as long as you apply it correctly, it will remain sticky for a long time, it will not fall off easily on any smooth surface, and it will not curl.
